Winner James Blandford (photo: Bobby Gill) The 23nd Bull Run Run was held in beautiful weather. There were many impressive performances. James Blandford, 45, finally won the race after seven prior Bull Run Run finishes, including second places in the last two years. Ashley Lister, 27, was the female winner. Both winners are Pennsylvanians. Race directors Bob Gaylord and Toni Aurilio did a fantastic job. The many volunteers who assisted them took good care of the runners. Come back to this page again soon. We plan to add much more information to it. North-South Competition
Each runner under 10 hours scores for his or her side. If the runner is from the side with the greater number of entrants (the North, as it was in 1861 and is now), he will score one point. If the person is from the side with the smaller troop strength (the South), he will score a proportionally larger amount to account for the lesser troop strength. For the first time in two years, the South won the friendly competition. No one takes this very seriously. Many runners from Virginia ran for the North. The Nash Rambler in the Do Loop (photo: Eric Levy-Myers) Note on PhotosWe had several volunteer photographers this year. There should be a photo of most runners at least somewhere. The volunteer photographers would be happy to let you use a photo, including printing it, for private, non-commercial purposes. If you want to do anything else with one of their pictures, please ask first. Any public display of these photos should include proper attribution to the photographer. Veterans with 10 or more finishes - 59 peopleHere are runners who have finished Bull Run Run 10 times or more. Tom Green and Frank Probst have finished all BRRs. Tim Stanley has finished all but one. The top female finishers are Suzi Spangler and Marcia Peters with 14. We originally left Laurie Ann Schuler off this list. That was a very bad mistake. Laurie has been at Bull Run Run, complete with her cartwheels, for many years. 22 time finisher Tim Stanley (photo: Bobby Gill)
