Note: This chart shows feet on the Y axis and time, not distance, on the X axis. So the flat points could be Keith resting at an aid station rather than flat terrain. Actually, Keith ran a pretty consistent pace, but there is some distortion based on this fact. Keith has said that he might plot his splits on this and help adjust for times he wasn't moving.
To answer your question, he got just under 18,000 feet of total ascent.
