The eighth MMT 100 saw the largest starting field, the largest number of finishers, and the slowest winning time. Tim Lee, running his first 100 miler easily defeated John Geesler who won the first MMT. Courtney Fenstermacher held off Jill Miller for the women's win. Meanwhile, Gary Knipling "two-peated" to win the seniors title for the second time in a row and the third time overall.
The weather was great and the threatened thunderstorms held off. No one was lost (badly, anyway). The fantastic aid station volunteers worked hard to produce great aid stations. Scott Mills led the trail markers to get the ribbons both up and down for the runners. (The ribbons were taken down after the last runner finished.)
