Cusick Wins Pine Creek Challenge 100 Miler. Outright!

With the Women's Half Marathon looming next weekend, apparently the "Women's 100 Miler" was being held on September 12 -- aka the Pine Creek Challenge.  Kathleen Cusick literally stormed to an overall victory in this 100 mile race, held on the crushed gravel Pine Creek Rail Trail in an area of Pennsylvania known as the "Grand Canyon of the East." The race was held in a steady rain. The 2nd, 5th and 6th place runners were also women, and the first male finisher came in over an hour after the winner.  Kathleen set a personal best at the 100 mile distance with a scorching time of 16:45:30.  Clearly her decision to "taper" the previous weekend by pulling from The Ring at mile 57 miles, rather than finishing the full 71 mile distance, paid off!
